We are searching for a Tax Manager to join our Group Tax Team in Sydney, reporting into our Head of Direct Taxes. You will be responsible for Australian tax compliance and reporting, and provide specialist tax advice to support delivering commercial outcomes while managing the Group’s tax risks. You will collaborate with a broad range of tax, finance and legal stakeholders as well as external auditors, tax advisors and authorities, providing an extraordinary learning and growth opportunity for the successful candidate. The role is hybrid, which means you’ll have the flexibility to work from the office and from home.
A day in the life
- Carry out efficient planning, execution, resource utilisation and communication to manage all aspects of Australian direct tax compliance and reporting.
- Deliver high-quality and timely quarterly tax effect accounting calculations.
- Ensure adherence to relevant financial policies, governance and risk management frameworks.
- Proactively monitor and review risks across the business and provide accurate and timely risk management advice.
- Drive simplification of systems and processes within and across Finance for continuous improvement
- Support the development of Tax Analysts / Senior Tax Analysts in the team
- Build strong relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of the vision and strategy for the tax team.
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years of postgraduate experience in a specialist field.
- Working knowledge of Australian income tax and accounting concepts, including tax-effect accounting.
- Skilled at utilising data to generate insights to influence decisions.
- Self-confidence and demonstrated ability in relationship building and business partnering.
- Comfort and resourcefulness in dealing with ambiguity and change.
- Tertiary degree in a related field, CA/CPA/CTA/Master of Tax qualified.
