We are searching for our next Tax Analyst to join our Group Tax Team in Sydney, reporting into our Tax Manager. You will get to add value to the business by providing specialist advice and managing the Group’s tax risks, helping to build a solid foundation for Lion’s growth aspirations. You will have exposure to a broad range of tax, finance and legal stakeholders as well as external auditors, tax advisors and authorities, providing an extraordinary learning and growth opportunity for the successful candidate. The role is hybrid, which means you’ll have the flexibility to work from the office and from home.

 

A day in the life

  • Timely and accurate preparation of our Australian and NZ income tax and FBT returns
  • Tax effect accounting for our Australian and NZ entities, including tax provision calculations, current and deferred tax accounting, tax reconciliations and reporting
  • Support the Australian and NZ businesses with tax payments and manage reconciliations to ATO/IRD business portals
  • General ledger review processes for Australia and NZ, analysing transaction data to determine the appropriate income tax treatment
  • Simplifying systems and processes to support continuous improvement
  • Support tax audits and reviews
  • Provide advisory support for the Australian and NZ businesses as required

What you’ll bring

  • 2-4 years’ postgraduate experience in a specialist field
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts including tax effect accounting, and Australian income tax (knowledge of NZ income tax would be an advantage)
  • Skilled at utilising data to generate insights to influence decisions
  • Demonstrated ability in business partnering
  • Tertiary degree in a related field
  • Professional qualification (CA preferred) or working towards
