Senior Strategy Manager

1 Oct 2026

Sydney, NSW, AU

Shape Lion’s future across ANZ, exploring long-term growth opportunities and turning complex strategic questions into clear business choices.

Lion is one of Australasia’s leading beverage companies, with a portfolio of some of Australia and New Zealand’s most recognised and loved brands, including XXXX, Hahn, Stone & Wood, Kirin Hyoketsu and Steinlager,

Behind our brands is a diverse and complex ANZ business spanning brewing, supply chain, sales, marketing, innovation and more. As part of the Kirin Group, we also have the opportunity to think beyond our current business and explore how Lion and Kirin’s capabilities, assets and relationships can create new sources of growth.

We’re looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to join our Strategy team in Sydney and help shape some of the bigger choices that will influence Lion’s future.

This is a genuinely ANZ-focused role, working across Australia and New Zealand and taking an enterprise-wide view of where Lion goes next. You’ll work with senior leaders across Lion, alongside Kirin and external partners, exploring new markets, partnerships, business models, technologies and capabilities.

Your role is to investigate the opportunity, connect the dots, build the commercial case and take the thinking to a clear decision point before transitioning it into the business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Explore medium and long-term growth and performance opportunities across our Australian and New Zealand businesses
  • Lead the discovery and definition of complex strategic projects
  • Build business cases that assess value creation, investment, risks and trade-offs
  • Explore future scenarios and challenge assumptions to strengthen decision making
  • Connect opportunities and capabilities across Lion, Kirin and external partners
  • Turn strategic choices into clear priorities, roadmaps and actions
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Technology, Insights and Planning

What you’ll bring

  • Strong strategic and structured problem-solving capability
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with an ability to understand what creates value
  • Experience working within a complex business environment, ideally FMCG; experience from other relevant consumer industries such as pharma may also translate well
  • A background or strong exposure to Finance or Supply Chain would be valuable
  • The ability to think enterprise-wide, understand how different parts of a business connect and identify opportunities others may not see
  • Confidence working with and constructively challenging senior stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, balanced with the ability to work independently and drive your own work
  • The ability to simplify complexity and communicate a compelling recommendation

This is an opportunity to step beyond today’s priorities and work on questions that could shape Lion across Australia and New Zealand for the next 3–10 years. You’ll have exposure across our business and the opportunity to influence strategic choices that can deliver sustainable, long-term value.

Apply Now to help shape the choices that will influence Lion’s next chapter.
