Sales Reporting Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Reporting Analyst to join the Commercial Reporting Team within our Sales function. The purpose of this role is provide the Sales team with insights and analysis, drawn from our extensive Power BI reporting suite, to identify opportunities and help the business make informed, data-driven decisions. This is a permanent role, based at our Sydney CBD office with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week. We are open to full-time candidates but also those who are happy to work 4 days per week.

 

A day in the life

 

  • Leverage your communication skills to partner with sales stakeholders to understand and recommend what new or enhanced reporting they may require.
  • Take the initiative to truly understand what your stakeholders need.
  • Use your commercial acumen to ensure all reports include the relevant commercial lens.
  • Collaborate with our dedicated team of Power BI Developers to turn the brief into a reality, ensuring the original requirements have been met.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work with the team to implement these changes.

 

What we're looking for

  • Inquisitive nature: explore what’s driving sales performance - the ‘why’ behind the ‘what’.
  • Stakeholder management: manage stakeholder expectations and work with them to discuss and agree desired insights.
  • Keeping it simple: succinctly summarise the narrative from complex reports and data.
  • Excellent communicator: clearly articulate insights to senior stakeholders (verbally and/or via PowerPoint/Excel/email) and give clear briefs to our Power BI developers.
  • Team player: willing to share best practices with the rest of the team and support other parts of the team.
  • Logical thought process: take logical steps when drilling into the data and looking for opportunities.
  • Shows initiative: has confidence to express opinions and offer up ideas.
  • Takes ownership: likes being empowered to take accountability for a task and running with it.

 

Technical Skills

  • Excel: Advanced – proven experience manipulating data in Excel and producing high quality reporting outputs.
  • PowerPoint: Advanced – can summarise data in a visually appealing manner in PowerPoint.
  • Power BI user: experienced end-user of Power BI.
  • Power BI developer: 2+ years experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI would be an advantage, allowing you to better relate to reporting requests and to help build reports/dashboards when required.

 

An in-depth understanding of business processes and functional capabilities within the fast-moving consumer goods sector would be beneficial.
