We are looking for a talented Financial Accountant to join our Group Financial Control Team on a 9-month contract. You will play an important role in ensuring the reporting, processes and governance are in place to ensure statutory compliance and delivery of accurate and timely reporting to our parent company in Japan and our Board. The role provides plenty of opportunities to apply your problem-solving skills, as well as the flexibility to drive improvement opportunities, all the while giving you a bird's-eye view of the Group’s performance. You will get to work closely with Group and business unit finance teams, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your partnering skills and technical knowledge. The role is , full-time and based in our Sydney CBD offices, with the ability to work flexibly.
A day in the life
• Support delivery of audit and finance committee, statutory and parent company reporting obligations, including high-quality periodic reporting.
• Provide accounting analysis and advice to business partners to enable better decision-making.
• Collaborate with business partners to produce Group budgets and forecasts, drive balance sheet governance, strong controls, as well as championing consolidation across Group.
• Support the external audit process, driving effectiveness, planning and execution.
• Get involved in strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects.
• Implement simplification of systems and processes through continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll bring
• Depth of expertise in end-to-end accounting processes, group consolidations and accounting standards.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to business partner and influence peers and stakeholders.
• Skilled in the delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting.
• An accounting qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA).
• 3+ years’ experience in financial accounting, business services and audit roles, working with large corporates.
