We are looking for our next Channel Manager – Retail to join our Channel Strategy Team, reporting into our Head of Channel and Perfect Execution. In this role, you will drive Lion’s growth agenda by developing and executing channel strategies that maximise sales, market share, and in-store brand impact. This role is critical in transforming Lion’s growth strategy into the marketplace and making a real difference in-store. The role is hybrid, which means you’ll have the flexibility to work from the office and from home.
A day in the life
- Support the Head of Channel Strategy and Perfect Execution to identify, commercialise and prioritise the marketplace opportunities and execute best-in-class channel strategies across retail, including consideration of Joint Customer Business Plans, category and portfolio strategy.
- Conduct research and generate market insights to identify channel opportunities in emerging segments such as RTDs and premium spirits.
- Proactively analyse multiple customer and shopper data sources and leverage trends / foresight to determine where to play.
- Execute the long-term roadmap for evolving the “Perfect Store” initiative, ensuring Lion’s products consistently deliver exceptional visibility, placement, and impact across all retail environments.
- Present clear, actionable insights and results to senior leadership, highlighting successes, learnings, and future opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, category and operations, to deliver integrated channel plans and seamless execution aligned with Lion’s business objectives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of channel and in-store strategies, using data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Strong communicator with ability to articulate strategies in a clear and engaging manner.
- Commercial acumen and strategic thinking with demonstrated ability to identify and quantify growth opportunities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies and initiatives.
- Deep understanding of Australia’s retail beverage / FMCG channel landscape - it would be an advantage if you bring an understanding of consumer and category dynamics across beer, RTDs and spirits.
- 5+ years of working experience in FMCG across channel management, trade marketing, national sales and/or in-store execution.
