Process & Improvement Engineer

Stone & Wood Brewery is looking for a Process Improvement Engineer to join our Murwillumbah brewery on a permanent full-time basis.

This isn't a desk-based engineering role. It's a hands-on role where you'll spend time on the brewery floor, working alongside our Brewing, Packaging and Engineering teams to identify opportunities, solve problems and implement improvements that make a real impact.

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the Engineering Leader, you'll help our brewery run at its best by making our processes safer, smarter and more efficient. You'll partner closely with operators, maintenance and production teams to understand challenges firsthand and deliver practical solutions.

You'll be:

• Working on the production floor to identify improvement opportunities and support operational teams.

• Leading continuous improvement initiatives across brewery operations and utilities.

• Using production data to improve efficiency, quality, reliability and plant performance.

• Driving improvements in water, energy, CO₂, steam usage and production yield.

• Investigating process issues, leading root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions.

• Supporting capital projects, equipment upgrades and commissioning of new systems.

• Building business cases for improvement opportunities and helping deliver them.

• Collaborating with operators, engineers, maintenance teams and external suppliers.

• Championing safe work practices while ensuring engineering changes meet food safety and quality standards.

About you

You're curious, practical and enjoy being where the action is. You like understanding how things work, solving problems at their source and working alongside frontline teams to improve the way things are done.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• An Engineering degree or relevant trade qualifications with demonstrated engineering experience.

• Experience in FMCG, food & beverage, brewing or another manufacturing environment.

• Strong continuous improvement experience using Lean, TPM, RCA or similar methodologies.

• Experience analysing production performance and using data to drive decisions.

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.

• A hands-on approach with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
