At Tooheys Brewery, we’re proud to brew some of Australia’s most loved beers — and we’re on the lookout for a Packaging Engineer Leader to help us achieve “world class in every glass”!

This is a permanent full-time position, based in Lidcombe.

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our packaging maintenance strategy, leading a talented team of machine specialists and taking the reins on performance, asset care, and innovation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the execution of our Packaging Maintenance Plan to ensure high performance, safety, and reliability across the department.
  • Coaching and developing a team of 5 Machine Specialists
  • Using your engineering smarts to champion a continuous improvement culture, leveraging TPM, RCA, FMECA, and other tools to eliminate losses and drive results.
  • Providing strategic direction for maintenance excellence and performance uplift, partnering with Area Leaders, Engineers, and OEMs.
  • Owning the packaging maintenance budget and long-term capital planning.
  • Ensuring top-notch standards for safety, quality, and compliance, including acting as the site Radiation Officer.

What you’ll bring to the table

  • Engineering degree preferred, with proven leadership experience in FMCG or high-speed packaging.
  • Deep technical and functional understanding of packaging equipment and maintenance practices.
  • A knack for strategic thinking and change management – you're not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills — you know how to bring out the best in others.
  • Experience driving results through TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and manufacturing excellence frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Australian regulatory standards in manufacturing and safety.
