Ready to step into a leadership role where your decisions directly shape our beer quality, site performance and customer trust? Join us as our next Brewing Quality Leader (The internal title is Quality Brewer) at Tooheys Brewery in Lidcombe. This is a Permanent Full Time position.
Reporting to the Head Brewer, this is a technical leadership role where you’ll lead our Technical Laboratory team and drive the end-to-end quality agenda across the brewery. You’ll play a critical role in lifting capability, embedding world-class quality standards, and building a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and food safety excellence.
This is a frontline leadership position with real influence across Brewing, Packaging and Operations.
What You’ll Own & Deliver
You’ll own the end-to-end quality agenda for the site while leading and developing the Technical Laboratory team. You’ll be accountable for driving performance, building capability and embedding world-class quality and food safety standards.
You will:
- Lead and develop the Technical Laboratory team, building capability, engagement and a high-performance culture
- Own site quality KPIs, including Brewing RFT, Brewing Quality Index and microbiological performance
- Drive chemical optimisation initiatives, improving process efficiency, cost performance and sustainability outcomes
- Lead microbial control strategies and continuous improvement across brewing operations
- Translate quality strategy into site execution plans, delivering productivity, value creation and operational discipline
- Embed Lion quality standards and technical compliance, ensuring audit readiness and strong governance
- Champion Food Safety (HACCP), role-modelling safe behaviours and lifting safety standards across the site
- Influence cross-functional teams, partnering with Brewing, Packaging and Engineering leaders to improve site performance
What You’ll Bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Science or a relevant technical discipline
- Diploma in Brewing (or equivalent industry experience)
- Proven leadership experience within quality, technical or manufacturing environments
- Strong capability in building and improving quality management systems and process standards
- Solid understanding of regulatory and legal compliance requirements
- Track record of delivering Continuous Improvement initiatives with measurable results
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence operators, leaders and technical specialists
