Brewing Production Team Leader

We are looking for a motivated Brewing Production Team Leader (Internal job title is Brewing Team Leader) to join our brewing team in Lidcombe.
This is a full-time, permanent role involving shift work. The shift patterns are based on weekly rotations between mornings(6am-2pm) afternoons(2pm-10pm) and nights (10pm to 6am)
Reporting to our Head Brewer, you will lead a team of 10 Brewing team members. Your key responsibility will be to oversee the production process and lead your team in delivering high-quality beers safely while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. This dynamic, fast-paced role requires someone with a passion for developing people and fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for improved safety outcomes and compliance through site safety Policy and Strategy through the implementation of Lion Group procedures and policies. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safe work practices.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop (build capability) a talented team of Brewing Technicians to ensure the highest production and performance standards.
- Maintain and enhance Food Safety and Quality Management standards across the brewing process.
- Collaborate with the wider operations team and key stakeholders to achieve outstanding business results.
- Drive a continuous improvement mindset within the team, ensuring a culture of efficiency and quality.
- Oversee brewing processes and ensure the production of world-class beers is delivered to Packaging in full and on time.
- Accountable for the overall performance of the Shift Team, ensuring resources are planned to deliver business outcomes.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Previous experience in a team leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Technical and functional knowledge in brewing and packaging processes- a background in Science and Engineering disciplines is preferred. If this is lacking, the candidate must be ready to study and acquire qualifications in Brewing (IBD) within two years.
- A proven leadership ability to coach, mentor, and build a high-performing and engaged team.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement processes and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with SAP and lean methodologies (e.g., TPM) is advantageous.
- Analytical and systematic problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement solutions.
