We’re on the lookout for a Head of Consumer Insights & Planning to lead how insight fuels growth across our ANZ portfolio. This is a rare opportunity to shape enterprise-wide decision making, build world class brand capability and embed a truly consumer obsessed mindset across Lion.
While this role leads a team of insights specialists across ANZ, we’re ideally looking for this leader to be based in Auckland, partnering closely with the New Zealand leadership team, whilst delivering projects for the broader marketing community.
A day in the life at Lion
In this senior leadership role, you’ll sit at the heart of Lion’s marketing engine – connecting insight to strategy, strategy to execution, and execution to impact.
You’ll:
- Lead Lion’s 3yr and annual brand planning process, integrating brand, innovation, connections, shopper and revenue growth management
- Set the standards for measurement, evaluation and evidence-based decision making, ensuring investment choices drive real growth
- Champion a “data → insight → action” mindset, lifting capability across Marketing and the broader business
- Translate complex data into compelling stories that influence senior leaders and energise teams
- Partner closely with Strategy, Portfolio, Brand, Innovation, Commercial and Finance teams to create truly joined up plans
- Lead and inspire a high performing team of Consumer Insights business partners across ANZ
This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable in the detail and at the big-picture table.
What you’ll bring
You’re a seasoned insights leader with a strategic lens and know what good marketing looks like.
You’ll likely bring:
- Accomplished career within Consumer Insights and Marketing roles
- Proven senior leadership experience within FMCG or a similarly complex consumer environment
- Stakeholder management and strong facilitation skills
- Deep expertise in consumer, customer and channel insights – and how to turn them into action
- Strong analytical horsepower, paired with the ability to simplify and create clarity
- Confidence influencing senior leaders and navigating ambiguity
- A passion for building teams, capability and a culture of continuous improvement
- Experience with innovation best practice and long term portfolio planning
Alcohol category experience is a bonus – but curiosity, courage and strategic thinking matter most.
