Coffee Specialist

Hola! The Havana team have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Coffee guru to join the team as our Coffee Specialist, based in Wellington at our Havana HQ.  This permanent role reports to our National Operations Manager, and is dedicated to leading in-depth coffee education, managing and hosting engaging coffee tours, and providing comprehensive training for both staff and customers for Havana.

 

A key aspect of this role involves delivering exceptional customer service in our retail space, fostering a rich appreciation and deeper understanding of coffee culture among our clientele and team members.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:
•    Develop and deliver comprehensive coffee training programs for staff & Customers, enhancing their coffee making skills and knowledge.
•    Conduct regular workshops and tastings for staff and customers, showcasing Havana’s coffee varieties and brewing methods.
•    Stay updated with industry trends and innovations in coffee to continuously refine training content and methods.
•    Host public & industry events at our sites as well as looking at opportunity to be involved in industry competitions & events. 
•    Implement and oversee quality control measures for coffee production, ensuring consistency and excellence in every cup.
•    Manage Shop & Espresso Bar inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient stock rotation.
•    Provide Education to our staff on our shop items.

 

We're looking for someone who has:
•    Hospitality & Speciality Coffee experience 
•    A high level understanding of New Zealand’s Speciality Coffee industry.
•    Hosting and events organising experience.
•    Coffee training experience
•    A high level of experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & Publisher

 

You will also need to have a Full NZ driver’s license for this role.
