Sonya joined Lion as a lab technician “Fresh out of uni! I wasn’t expecting to get a job. I was looking at taking a gap year then doing post grad study. Lion sucked me in by giving me so many awesome opportunities!”

“We do a lot of testing and learning, designing recipes and drinks, coming up with cool ways to market them. We work closely with the marketing and innovation teams.”

Lion has been on a journey towards improving inclusion and diversity, with a key milestone being closing our gender pay gap for like roles.

In 2017-2018, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 we were also proud to be awarded the citation for ‘Employer of Choice for Gender Equality’ by the Australian Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). 

We know we have to work to maintain this, but we continue to aim higher as we work towards our target of a 50:50 gender balanced workforce by 2026. We are also committed to keeping the gender pay gap closed

“Beyond my role of brewing, I get involved in running various improvement projects around safety, quality, productivity & cost. I am also involved in Best Practice, Safety Committee & Manufacturing Excellence; I’m a Qualified Taster and Document Writer as well as an Internal Auditor for Management Systems & Food Safety”
